China National Intellectual Property Administration: China's green low-carbon technology patent innovation is active
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, December 28 (Reporter Wang Linlin) The China National Intellectual Property Administration recently printed and distributed the "Green Low Carbon Technology Patent Classification System", and carried out a statistical analysis of invention patents on this basis. Ge Shu, Director of the Strategic Planning Department of the China National Intellectual Property Administration, introduced at the December regular press conference held by the office on the 28th that in the past five years, China's green low-carbon patent authorization has increased by 6.5% annually, and green low-carbon technology innovation is active.
Promoting green and low-carbon economic and social development is a key link in achieving high-quality development. Ge Shu said that from 2016 to 2021, there were 471000 green and low-carbon patent authorizations in the world, of which 160000 were authorized by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, accounting for 34%, indicating that China has become an important driving force for global green and low-carbon technological innovation.
Ge Shu introduced that China's patents in the fields of hydrogen energy, energy storage, and other technologies have achieved rapid growth. From 2016 to 2021, the China National Intellectual Property Administration witnessed the fastest growth in patent authorization in the field of hydrogen energy, with an average annual growth of 20.5%, and achieved an average annual growth of more than double digits in the fields of energy storage technology, electricity saving technology and oil saving technology. China has contributed over 75% to the growth of global hydrogen and energy-saving technology patent authorizations.
However, China's overseas layout of green and low-carbon patents is still weak, and there is a certain gap with the United States, Japan, and Europe. Ge Shu introduced that from 2016 to 2021, Chinese patent holders obtained 15000 green and low-carbon patent authorizations overseas, far lower than 70000 in Europe, 48000 in Japan, 45000 in the United States, and 17000 in South Korea.
Next, the China National Intellectual Property Administration will continue to build a sound statistical monitoring mechanism for green and low-carbon patents, actively explore patent based green and low-carbon innovation evaluation systems and methods, strengthen green and low-carbon patent protection, and encourage green and low-carbon technology innovation investment and industrialization.
