This event revolves around the IPIC Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Competition, Intellectual Property Technology Achievement Exhibition, as well as high-level forums and cooperation exchanges, aiming to support small and medium-sized enterprises to accelerate their integration into the overall development of Hong Kong's innovation and technology, promote industrial transformation and upgrading, and inject new impetus into the Greater Bay Area. Led by Sha Tin District Councilor KT Ng Wu Kai Tai, Dr. Colin WU Wu Gao Lin delivered the opening speech, and Professor Shirly Ling summarized the results and highlights of the conference and delivered a thank-you speech.
The 2024 IPIC Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Competition aims to recognize and promote Hong Kong's excellent technological innovation products, technologies, and inventions, to encourage Hong Kong industry elites and enterprises to continuously pursue innovation and excellence, seek better and more creative advanced technologies and scientific research products, and meet the development needs of Hong Kong enterprises in the digital economy era.
The evaluation committee experts and scholars selected four categories of awards, including the Most Creative Award, the Most Potential Award, the Best Research and Development Award, and the Excellence Award, based on the novelty (25%), potential social impact (25%), applicability (25%), and complexity of intellectual property technology (25%) of the participating projects. In this technological event, a total of 30 innovative technology enterprises were selected and honored through the rigorous, professional, and scientific evaluation of experts and scholars in the selection committee.
The exhibition of intellectual property technology achievements, in the form of product presentation, showcases the iconic patented technologies and scientific research cases of award-winning enterprises. And set up creative interactive areas and game activity areas to provide participants with opportunities for interactive experiences.
At the high-level forum, we invited President Zhi Guanxian and Dr. Wu Gaolin to give speeches and share their views on the themes of "Effectively Utilizing and Managing Intellectual Property Rights to Empower Sustainable Innovation Development in Enterprises" and "The Development Path and International Opportunities of Shenzhen Hong Kong Innovation and Technology Integration".
The SME IP Innovation Base for Small and Medium sized Enterprises has three highlights: firstly, it focuses on new paths for the development of intellectual property and innovative technology. The second is to focus on win-win cooperation and enhance the stickiness of the innovation ecosystem. The third is to focus on cutting-edge technology and showcase technological achievements. This event is a professional event with high "gold" content and strong professionalism.
